Effective and Efficient Air Filtration Systems
Aqua Air air filtration systems are effective and efficient. Most clients worry about the “loudness” of the system once installed, however, the loudness of an air purifier (measured in decibels) depends on a few factors like the model of air purifier, the fan operating speed, and personal noise tolerance. It is important to remember that most air purifiers are loud at first as they start cleaning your air. But as particles are removed from your air, they will slow their fan speed and naturally become quieter as they work. Click here to select your air filter from the different brands offered.
Picking the right Air Filter for your home
When selecting the right filter for your home, you need to consider certain factors so as to get the right results you are looking for. You need to consider: type of filter, size, performance, material, and MERV rating. These factors combined will allow you to make a conscious decision that you will not regret later on. Air Filtration and Covid19
The recent pandemic has brought forth an array of questions regarding the air filtration systems and their effectiveness against the Coronavirus. Although facilities like hospitals and health care clinics have specially designed mechanical systems that can accommodate the levels of filtration that they need, these systems do not work to curb or eliminate the virus. Air filtration systems, even those installed in health care institutions, do not eliminate the virus. Therefore, it is very important to follow proper infection control measures like social distancing, proper washing of hands, and isolation when infected.
BC Air Filtration FAQ:
Why is it important to have clean air in my BC buildings?
There are many benefits to having purified air in your home or workplace. Effective air treatment can mitigate many health hazards caused by chemicals, and other pollutants such as headaches, eye irritation, allergies, and fatigue.
Can air treatment systems or air filters reduce asthma symptoms?
Air treatment can be effective in preventing asthma symptoms and allergies depending on the model of the air treatment system and filters you utilize in your buildings. By filtering out airborne pollutants like pollen, dust, and animal dander you can limit the asthma symptoms and allergic reactions of the people in your building
How does the MERV value of a filter affect my air filtration system?
The minimum efficiency reporting value is a number from 1 to 16 that is relative to an air filters efficiency based upon particle size. The higher the MERV rating, the more efficient the air filter is at removing particles. Although there are air filters that are MERV 16 through 20, they are usually only found in hospitals, clean rooms, and nuclear power plants. For home air filtration systems, most air filters are rated anywhere between MERV 5 and 13.
The rating is derived from a test method developed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) in 1987. If your filter has a high MERV rating, it’s very effective in preventing things like pollen, bacteria and pet dander from circulating throughout your building. However, your filter might be so effective that it prevents air itself from circulating. The result could be less air circulation and decreased overall air quality in your home or workplace.
How does the Energy Cost Index or ECI rating of a filter affect how much money I save?
In addition to the energy required to move air through that specific filter, the ECI filter rating system examines the air filters efficiency over its service life. Specifically, the formula is dollars per percent of filter efficiency. The lower the value, the better the filter.
Can air filtration systems get rid of odour in my BC home?
If your home or workplace have the correct air filters installed, air treatment systems can remove unpleasant or harmful odours from your home or workplace. Air filters that are made with carbon, like those usually found in HEPA filters, are an effective way to eliminate harmful gases, molecules, chemicals, fumes and odours from the air.
What are HEPA Filter Products?
HEPA filters stand for high-efficiency particulate air filters. They are manufactured using recommended practices published by the Institute of Environmental Technologies, not ASHRAE.
What is an Electrostatic Air Filter?
Electrostatic air filters use static electricity to give particles a positive charge as they pass through the filter. As air passes through the various layers of the filter, more particulates are trapped, resulting in cleaner air, as compared to conventional filters.
